A Sincere Heart

Just some notes from a halaqah at the qiyaam.

Signs of a sincere heart:
Sign 1- hide your good deeds as much as you hide your bad deeds

…a person who practices charity so secretly that his left hand does not know what his right hand has given (i.e. nobody knows how much he has given in charity).

Sign 2- Doubt sincerity
If you think you are sincere well, that’s the first step down hill towards arrogance

Sign 3- Praise and criticisms to you are the same

اللهم أجعلني خيرا مما يظنون ولا تواخذني بما يقولون واغفر لي مالا يعلمون

O Allah, do not call me to account for what they say and forgive me for what they have no knowledge of (and make me better than they imagine)

Sign 4- Enthusiasm- Always be motivated and active to worship Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala

Sign 5- Patience

What to do to attain ikhlaas?

Learn what it is- definition: Sincerity, purity of intention.
what is it’s enemies: riaa- definition: show off

The Rasul (S) said, “I fear for my Ummah a hidden shirk and that shirk is Riyah – Pride, Hypocrisy. Beware of this Shirk Khafiya – Hidden Shirk, as it is like a black ant walking on a black rock on a dark moonless night.

Begin all deeds with bismillah alrahman alraheem- “In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful”
When you do this, then it becomes a habit to always begin an action with it, so when you come across an action that is not pleasing to Allah and you start with bismillah you remind yourself. 🙂

“If you can’t start something by saying bismillah, you know you shouldn’t be doing it.”

Sh. Abdulbary Yahya

Have you thought about.. GMAIL Tasks- Yes gmail tasks maybe have a quick reminder: Have YOU checked your INTENTION today?? 😀 😀

Lastly the best way to attain ikhlaas is to ask none but Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala for the help to actually attain it. You want it, well you gutta make duaa for it. inshaAllah

I hope this was of benefit, please correct me if I am wrong.
