Inna lilah wa inna ilayhi rajioon

My dad attended Shaykh Omar alAshqar’s funeral today and said it was probably the second largest he has seen in Jordan. SubhanAllah, i cannot stop thinking about how this man (and many others) have left such a mark on the world. How people everywhere will pray for him, will make duaa for him, will remember him in good, will study his books and be affected by his knowledge.

It got me thinking about what i can do in life, and what i want to offer to the world. Its scary to think how fast life passes, and how so many times we find ourselves ‘killing time’ when time is the only thing we’ve got. Our lives are so precious, and the marks and goodness we leave behind is what matters. Its important to live a beautiful life worshiping Allah, and a beautiful life building what is there to come for you.

But what does it take to have a beautiful ending? To have lines and lines of people attending our funeral. Thousands of people making duaa for us as we depart this world. What does it take to leave a mark in the world?

May Allah have mercy on his soul and grant him jannatul firdows and allow us to keep benefiting from his knowledge. May Allah allow us to benefit from these last days of Ramadan and to witness layltul qadr. AMEEN!

I want to ask everyone to please forgive me if i have ever hurt them in anyway.
