Bismilah,
1) Ramadan! Ah how much i miss thou ❤ I was just laying down listening to Sudais’s famous qunoot duaa’s subhanAllah. My goal this ramadan = go to Meccah… speaking of which

2) I miss the Ka’bah! SubhanAllah, i was in such a blessing when i was able to visit it so many times, but never thought to thank Allah for allowing me to see it. Just thinking of the 4 years i have lived since i have since Meccah hurts my heart.. sigh 😦 May Allah allow us all to see the ka’bah (soon!)

Taken back in 2007

And here is our chance…

Bismillah,

I think i will go on a rant that isn’t the typical ones other blogs spam when Hajj comes along 🙂 i will discuss hajj in another post maybe insha’Allah

First thing i want you to do is maybe read surat alHajj, just cuz its really powerful!

Anyhoo…

First off, the virtues in these 10 days;

1. Its the best 10 days of the year

Ibn Abbas (May Allah be pleased with him), that the Prophet (p.b.u.h.) said: “There are not any days in which righteous deeds done in them are more beloved to Allah than these days, i.e. the ten days (of Dhul-Hijjah). They said: O, Messenger of Allah, not even Jihad in the path of Allah? He said: Not even Jihad in the path of Allah Most High, except if a man goes out (for Jihad) with his self and his wealth, then he doesn’t return with anything from that.” [AlBukhari]

–enuf said 🙂

2. Dhikr!

That they may witness things that are of benefit to them (i.e. reward of Hajj in the Hereafter, and also some worldly gain from trade, etc.), and mention the Name of Allâh on appointed days (i.e. 10th, 11th, 12th, and 13th day of Dhul-Hijjâh), over the beast of cattle that He has provided for them (for sacrifice) (at the time of their slaughtering by saying: Bismillah, Wallâhu-Akbar, Allâhumma Minka wa Ilaik). Then eat thereof and feed therewith the poor who have a very hard time. [22: 28]

3. The blessed day of the month, the day of Arafah. This is the ninth day of dhul hijah.

Fasting the day of Arafah expiates the (minor) sins of two years: a past one and a coming one. And fasting the day of `Aashouraa’ expiates the sins of the past year. [Muslim]

So thats some information insha’Allah. SubhanAllah what I was thinking about that is just so amazing is that throughout the year we have SO many opportunities for days, specific days that give us another chance. SubhanAllah, truly and verily is Allah the Most Forgiving the most Merciful. I mean look how many chances we have that are described as ‘the best days, the best night, the best month’ all of these are oft curing themes throughout the year. Doesn’t this make you smile, 🙂 ‘cuz I am lol a bit too much–alhamdulilah ‘ala ni3mat alIslaam.

The beauty though is that Allah allows us, those who are not able to attend this journey of Hajj, the best experience EVER! But we sit here, in where ever we may be, but we still have the golden chance to gain the reward. These 10 days are not just for those who are in Meccah, they are for all the Muslims to enjoy to benefit from. How amazing! 😀

Our hearts have weakened, we aren’t in that high mode after Ramadan comes. Its time to revive that dying heart of yours. Nurture it with the dhikr of Allah, through repentance, quran, tasbeeh, tahlil, and so on.

Plus, its a month of ma’gfirah– if Allah is going to expiate all the sins of the people preforming hajj, we might as well aim at getting something expiated. insha’Allah

Another thing, read and ponder about the virtues of Hajj in itself. I was telling my dear friend, before she left, that she will enjoy it more than she will have trouble. It allows us to see life! Life, in its utmost simplicity. All of us, wearing the same garments (well at least the men), all on foot, all doing the same things. It is so humbling and so just life changing :’).

And proclaim to mankind the Hajj (pilgrimage). They will come to you on foot and on every lean camel, they will come from every deep and distant (wide) mountain highway (to perform Hajj). [22:27]

And of course, inshaAllah Eid is in 10 days! Get on cleaning the house ;).
